Fashioned From Nature

CHD was commissioned by the V&A Museum to design the accompanying catalogue for their 2018 exhibition ‘Fashioned from Nature’. With incredible subject matter, the publication needed to appeal to both the fashion crowd and the sincere historian. Leaning on our editorial and fashion heritage as a studio, we designed a larger ‘magazine’ format and a soft-back cover. The interior layout design adheres to a strong grid with a clear, almost academic style, interrupted with break-out chapter openers and introduction spreads that soften the overall tone and reference the exhibition’s fashionable gravitas.
